Night Tour of the Accademia Gallery
This Galleria dell'Accademia is home to one of the most celebrated statues in existence: the David. Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni was the only artist in Florence willing to work with this block of white marble, and he turned it into a masterpiece!
After the Uffizi Museum, the Accademia Gallery is the most visited museum in Florence. This means that long lines are usually a sure thing. Luckily, we reserve your skip the line Accademia tickets ahead of time. This means that the only line you will stand in is a short security line.
Please note: Short delays at the security check may occur during the busiest months, June and July. However, our team of experts works to prevent delays as much as possible.
Michelangelo's David
See Michelangelo's iconic Statue of David without the crowds surrounding it. When you enter the gallery in which the David stands, you'll immediately notice his height, beautiful smooth surface and determined expression.
Your guide will explain how Michelangelo heroically carved this masterpiece out of a block of Carrara marble that nobody wanted to touch. Make sure you take a good look at Michelangelo's hands and feet - they are out of proportion as the David was supposed to be placed on top of the Florence Duomo.
Halls of the Accademia
Aside from Michelangelo's David, there's plenty else to see within the Accademia Gallery. Your guide will walk you through more of the Accademia Gallery highlights to capture the full experience.
Among the most celebrated exhibits, you can find the Gipsoteca Bartolini, a large hall covered floor to ceiling in sculptures. There, you'll be transported back in time to a period during which the Accademia was a teaching gallery. In this hall, you can find countless works that aspiring Florentine artists crafted.
Additionally, you will have the chance to visit the Museum of Musical Instruments, Florentine Gothic Hall as well as the Hall of the Prisoners. In these galleries, you'll become acquainted with early forms of Gothic art that paved the way to the Italian Renaissance period.
Take Your Time and Explore the Collections
If you want to stay inside the Accademia Gallery after the conclusion of your evening tour, go right ahead! The gallery stays open for a little longer after the guided tour concludes. Take your time and revisit the David or your other favorite works of art.

Our guide was okay. They were passionate about history but at times a little too much information was given. They would mention a city or person and then give a long history about that before returning to the original topic. There were lots of other interesting pieces of art in the museum but the guide only spoke about two other than The David.
